The Official Lebanese Top 20: Week Of Sunday May 19th

The new chart from The Official Lebanese Top 20 has been released, revealing the top 20 songs played on the radios over the past week. And this week in the first spot is the Lebanese song ‘Ataltini” by local singer Shady Farah, while in the second spot and advancing from last week 19th position is Wings by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. It’s crazy how things can evolve on “The Official Lebanese Top 20”! Following the noticeable domination of Occidental Acts lately, and after the long stays on Top of the Chart by Pink or Macklemore, it’s “back to the roots” this week with the 1st Number 1 of Lebanese singer Shady Farah with “Ataltini”, the big jump to Number 5 of Lebanese singer Michel Azzi (who also was the week’s guest on both the TV & Radio OLT20 Shows), and the New Entries of Anwar Nour and Aline Khalaf inside the Top 10 with “3am Bitkhayala”, and “Ma Kalla W Dal” respectively. Nothing but local Acts! Amazing stuff!

From the other 4 New Entries of the week, “Can’t Hold Us” by US Rapper Maklemore & Ryan Lewis Feat Ray Dalton returns to the Chart at Number 15, followed by “Crazy Kids” from KeSha & Will I Am at Number 18,. On OLT20 this week we have 8 Local and Regional artists, and 12 Occidental ones!

The first batch of stills from 300: Rise Of An Empire debuted earlier this week but now thanks to EW we have a new image which reveals our first look at leading lady Alice Eve. The film which also stars Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro and Sullivan Stapleton will have its first trailer attached to The Hangover 3 so we’ll have to wait a while before we see some footage from the movie. This image will probably do for now:

A new trailer from Rush has been released online, featuring plenty of awesome footage and focusing on the film’s main story unlike the first teaser trailer. The film seems like a stellar rivalery racing drama and I look forward to watching to finished film in theaters on September 19. Ken Marino and Erica Oyama Marino To Pen The Adaptation Of Go The Fuck To Sleep

Fox 2000 has reportedly signed on with husband and wife Ken Marino and Erica Oyama Marino, according to Deadline, in order to pen the screenplay for the film adaptation of Adam Mansbach’ children’s book Go the Fuck to Sleep, is a “bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.” No further details were given on the adaptation but it seems that things are moving forward so make sure to head back soon for more updates on the movie.

New Trailer & Poster From The Hangover 3

I don’t know what the fuss is all about, watching the latest Hangover 3 trailer which you can check right below was like watching for a Fast & Furious movie, there’s no laugh, no funny moments or highlights in the trailer, hopefully they are keeping the good parts for the movie (I tell myself this lie all the time). It’s good that they took the franchise to another destination rather than repeating itself, but hopefully it will top the past films. The Hangover 3 opens in Lebanon on May 30 starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Melissa McCarthy, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, John Goodman, Mike Epps and Mike Tyson. Ericson Core To Helm Point Break Remake

Ericson Core is set to helm the remake of Point Break for Alcon Entertainment, the remake as the original is set in the world of international extreme sports, involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring. Set for distribution by Warner Bros the film is expected to begin production the end of this year. No casting announcement was made at the moment, but hit the jump for more including the press release.

ERICSON CORE TO DIRECT ALCON ENTERTAINMENT’S REBOOT OF CLASSIC ACTION THRILLER ‘POINT BREAK’

LOS ANGELES, CA., APRIL 10, 2013 – Ericson Core (“Invincible”) will direct the feature film remake of the classic 1991 action-thriller POINT BREAK for Alcon Entertainment, it was announced by Alcon co-founders and co-CEO’s Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.

point-break-movie-posterKosove and Johnson will produce along with Michael DeLuca, John Baldecchi, Chris Taylor and Kurt Wimmer (“Salt,” “Law Abiding Citizen,” upcoming “Total Recall”), who also wrote the screenplay. RGM Media principal Devesh Chetty and investor John McMurrick, Chairman of Marloss Entertainment, will serve as Executive Producers.

The new version of the film is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring. The filmmakers are keeping other plot points under wraps.

Known for his cinematography work on the box office success “The Fast and the Furious” for Universal Pictures and “Daredevil” for 20th Century Fox, Core made his directorial debut with Disney’s “Invincible” starring Mark Wahlberg.

The Kathryn Bigelow original, starring Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey, was produced by Largo Entertainment and released by Fox. The film went on to become an instant classic and remains beloved by the youth culture around the world.

Principal photography is set to begin at the end of the year. Alcon will release through its output deal with Warner Bros.

Alcon principals Kosove and Johnson secured rights to the project from RGM Media, John McMurrick and Chris Taylor in 2011. In addition to the feature rights, Alcon has also secured television and gaming rights to POINT BREAK.

New Trailer From Now You See Me

A new theatrical trailer from Now You See Me has been released. The trailer shows off plenty of new footage while laying out the film’s main plot, which seems like an incredibly cool magical action packed movie. Thankfully not much is spoiled and still we get to see a lot of the movie. Now You See Me opens in Lebanon on June 6 starring Jesse Eisenberg, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo and Michael Caine.Check out the new trailer below:

James Wan Will Reportedly Direct Fast & Furious 7

Universal seems working fast and furiously on the sequel to Fast & Furious 6 which isn’t even out in theaters yet, and last week director Justin Lin dropped out and a shortlist of directors were said to be on the top including Jeff Wadlow, Brad Furman and Harald Zwart, now Deadline reports that the horror master James Wan is expected to sign a deal by the end of the week to helm the seventh installment in the franchise. Universal hopes to shoot Fast Sven this summer for a release summer 2014. I look forward to see what Wan will bring to the franchise. Fast & Furious 6 opens on May 23 & Wan’s next film the Conjuring opens on September 19. Hit the jump for what director Lin had to say about his departure and Wan’s selection.

Fury Starring Brad Pitt Set For November 14 2014 Release

Last week we reported that Brad Pitt was coming on board to star in David Ayer’s next WWII drama pic Fury and now Columbia Pictures seems to be having faith in the movie and the director as they acquired the film rights and set the release date in a very competitive slate November 14 2014. The 80 million $ film should begin production this September. Brad will be next seen in World War Z on June 20 and Ayer’s next film Ten opens next January. Hit the jump for the full press release.

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 10, 2013) – Columbia Pictures has acquired domestic distribution and a good portion of the available international distribution rights to David Ayer’s epic war film FURY, with Brad Pitt set to star in the leading role, it was announced today by QED International CEO Bill Block and Doug Belgrad, President of Columbia Pictures. QED is producing the film with John Lesher’s Le Grisbi Productions and Ethan Smith. Alex Ott is co-producing the feature with Ayer. Principal photography is set to begin in September 2013 and Columbia anticipates releasing FURY on November 14, 2014.

FURY is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

“We loved this script from the moment we read it,” Belgrad said. “This is epic and authentic storytelling at its finest and we couldn’t be more excited to be in business with David Ayer and Brad Pitt on this incredible story of sacrifice and heroism.”

QED and the studio previously partnered on the worldwide hit DISTRICT 9. FURY is Ayer’s second film with QED, which is financing and producing his ensemble action thriller TEN, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington and Mireille Enos, and which is set for release from Open Road Films in January 2014. FURY also reteams Ayer with John Lesher, who produced his last film, END OF WATCH.

Jose Padilha To Helm The Brotherhood For Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. has tapped the RoboCop remake director Jose Padilha to helm the film adaptation of the thriller book by Guy Lawson and William Oldham, The Brotherhoods: The True Story of Two Cops Who Murdered for the Mafia. According to Heat Vision the film will be titled The Brotherhood and will be penned by Bill Dubuque with Dan Lin taking are of the production. The film follows “two corrupt detectives, one working surreptitiously for the Luchese crime family, the other for the Gambino family. For years the men threw cases, scrapped evidence and even killed. Oldham is the third point in the story, a detective who spent more than seven years tracking the men, eventually bringing them to justice in a sensational trial.”
