Here’s some good news, one of the rare comedies that I enjoyed the last few years is Hot Tub Time Machine, and it looks like MGM is eager to make a sequel out of the movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter MGM is in talks with Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke to reprise theire roles, even though John Cusak is not involved with the sequel. Machete Kills finds a release date opening in theaters on September 13 2013. The film stars Dany Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Mel Gibson and many other actors.

Well this is unsurprising news, Paramount has decided that the great adaptation of Jack Reacher, will not turn into a franchise as the worldwide cumulative box office wasn’t as much as they’d hoped, in order to guarantee a sequel the film need to reach 250 million $ worldwide and so far the film is at 150 million $. Jack Reacher still did not open in key Asian territories like Korea, Japan and China, if the Asian box office draws in some cash, Paramount would probably start negotiations for a potential sequel which would move forward if they can start production with the same budget as the first film.

On of the several remakes announced this week is Ben-Hur, the story in this one will centers on the relationship between Judah Ben-Hur and his friend Messala, the script of this film will also follow the story of Jesus Christ, his encounters with Judah, his death sentence and crucifixion. Penned by Keith Clarke, the film is produced by Sean Daniel and Joni Levin.

Michael Lesslie has been hired to pen Ubisoft’s adaptation of Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender.
